The apartment is located in the traditional spa town spa town of Bagneres de Luchon, which is also known as the “Queen of the Pyrenees.” Just 1.5 hours from both Pau and Toulouse airports, both served by low-cost carriers from the UK.
Perched high above Luchon at 1860m on a sun-drenched mountain balcony surrounded by breathtaking vistas of the Haute Pyrenees is Superbagneres, which can be accessed by gondola from the town centre or by a 20 minute drive. The 1200m climb from Luchon has the greatest vertical drop in the Pyrenees
P’skis apartment is right in the heart of the town, just 4 minutes walk across the road to the ski gondola lift which takes you to Superbagneres.
Superbagneres is a compact family ski resort providing 35km of pistes. The Techous sector offers easy green and blue runs for beginners whilst below the Grand Hotel the runs become a little steeper with some interesting red and blue descents through the trees. The top station at 2260m offers a number of steep blacks including the Gouron which follows a steep, narrow line down a powder chute.
In keeping with Luchon’s long tradition make sure you visit the thermal baths. There is no better way to soothe those aching muscles than in the warm waters fed from local hot spring. The main street, allée d'Étigny, lined with cafés, restaurants, shops and snack bars, has a distinctly metropolitan elegance and bustle. Experience the atmosphere of the resort in the evenings with its cinema, disco or even the Casino.
There are other ski resorts nearby, Peyragudes, which is about a 20min drive from Luchon. Another superb resort is in Spain, which is called Baqueira Beret.
