Les Deux Alpes in the Oisans mountains is 44 miles from Grenoble. It is the second oldest ski resort in France.and has an incredible variety of slopes in an area famous for excellent snow quality all season. Beginners use the gently nursery slopes radiating from the village and the easy runs on the glacier. There is masses of good ski ing for intermediates, snow parks for boarders and off piste which even links through to La Grave.
The village itself is situated at 1650 m in a wide south facing high altitude valley with ski pistes radiating on both sides, and links up to the glacier at 3600m.,See ski map
The village of Les Deux Alpes is picturesque and lively, with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars lining its broad level streets, set against the stunning background of snowy peaks.. There is plenty of apres ski activities with heated outdoor swimming pool, outdoor ice rink with dodgem cars, Turkish baths and saunas.
